Jacob (Owner)

I started waterfowl hunting 16 years ago when a family friend took me out for the first time. From the first time I got in the boat well before sunrise to now waterfowl hunting has been my passion and what I base my entire life around

How long have you been hunting waterfowl?

I’m going on my 16th year of waterfowl hunting now

When did you start The Fowl Drake?

I founded The Fowl Drake in 2022 to get new hunters, both young and old into waterfowl hunting. There’s nothing more I like then taking out a new hunter and introducing them to the sport I’ve come to love and make my passion for the past 16 years.

What’s your favorite part about waterfowl hunting?

The amount of passion I have for waterfowl hunting is hard to describe. When I try and pinpoint my favorite thing, it has to be the memories made with friends new and old.

What do you do for a full-time job?

I drive semi for a living(its a great career, because it allows for me to scout during all hours of the day and night) I also manage(and wrench) our shop ordering parts and supplies needed for maintenance and upkeep. 

What are your hobbies outside of waterfowl hunting?

Outside of hunting season I keep myself very busy. I enjoy shooting a round of sporting clays, spending time doing fire department activities (I’m a volunteer firefighter also) spending time with friends around the bonfire, grilling out and most of all spending time with my beautiful wife and daughter.

Cody (Guide)

Hello fellow hunters and waterfowl enthusiasts. My name is Cody marx. I first got into waterfowl hunting 8 years ago when I went on my first hunt with Jacob.  From there I fell in love with waterfowl hunting.

How long have you been hunting waterfowl?

I’m going on my 8th year of waterfowl hunting

What’s your favorite part about waterfowl hunting?

My favorite part of waterfowl hunting is using duck calls and working with my four legged best friend on the retrieval of waterfowl.

What do you do for a full-time job?

I am a full time boat mechanic in Dubuque Iowa (I travel every weekend during season to come hunt) where I live with my fiance Allison.  I have two dogs and enjoy my time on the river, water skiing, surfing, and knee boarding.

What are your hobbies outside of waterfowl hunting?

I spend a lot of my time running my hunting lab (Remington) in UKC training events to further our skills for the waterfowl season.  I look forward to assisting you all in your pursuit of waterfowl.

Nicholas (Guide)

Hey there! Here is my short story: A couple friends about 15 years ago got me into waterfowl hunting, been hooked since. I’ve been hunting with my best friend for several years, that always makes it more fun. I’ve always enjoyed any type of hunting, so this was a given.

How long have you been hunting waterfowl?

I have been hunting waterfowl for approximately 15 years. On and off when I was younger, now I try not to miss any opportunities.

When did you join The Fowl Drake crew?

What’s your favorite part about waterfowl hunting?

The uniqueness of the sport has always been fascinating to me. The various species of birds you can harvest, to the incredible memories you can make with great friends. Another favorite part about it is, just sitting back and admiring God’s handy work. From the beautiful landscapes around you, to the birds flying in the wind. Sometimes its just fun to sit back and watch the birds work your spread.

What do you do for a full-time job?

I have been working in the building trades for the last decade. I had the opportunity to be part of the team that built the tallest timber building in the world, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

What are your hobbies outside of waterfowl hunting?

I love any type of hunting, so spending time out in the woods bow or gun hunting deer is common. Also spending time with my family and friends. I am also a volunteer firefighter, that keeps my very busy. Working on making a career out of firefighting.

Jacob (Guide)

I didn’t grow up as a waterfowler. I cut my teeth on chasing deer and turkeys. I didn’t have any intention on becoming a waterfowl hunter. It wasn’t until I was coaxed into going on a late season river goose hunt with a buddy that everything changed for me. After hunkering in the layout blind and having that first flock of geese pass and do it just right, I was hooked!

How long have you been hunting waterfowl?

I’ve been hunting waterfowl for 6 seasons now.

What’s your favorite part about waterfowl hunting?

I think for me, what draws me most to the sport is the wide range of environments you can chase waterfowl in. In Wisconsin there’s public and private access to marshes, rivers, lakes, dry fields, ponds, you name it! You can never get bored of a new change of scenery!

What do you do for a full-time job?

To fuel my waterfowl addiction, I work as a Product Manager for an industrial chemical and water management company.

What are your hobbies outside of waterfowl hunting?

Outside of hunting season I enjoy some good walleye and bluegill fishing!

Robin (Guide)

I started waterfowl hunting 12 years ago when a co-worker invited me along. Since that day I have been hooked. Five years into waterfowl hunting I became a member of the Buck Gardner Game Calls Pro Staff team (now BG Calls). Since then I have been hosting, and attending calling seminars, working with local waterfowl organizations, and most importantly mentoring new waterfowlers on the Horicon National Refuge with the Wisconsin Learn to Hunt program.

I started waterfowl hunting 12 years ago.

What’s your favorite part about waterfowl hunting?

My favorite part of waterfowl hunting is the interaction between the hunter and the birds. Waterfowl is unlike anything else. When you see a group of greenheads flying, hit them with your call, and watch them turn a hard corner right at you there is nothing that can compare.

What do you do for a full time job?

As my full-time job, I paint and powder coat for a local company that builds dump valves for fire trucks. I also paint and powder various parts for area farmers and businesses.

What are your hobbies outside of waterfowl hunting?

Outside of waterfowling, I enjoy shooting trap, playing golf, coaching high school trap, and riding my motorcycle but most of all spending time with my wife and my two wonderful boys.

Anthony (Pro Staff)

Hi! I Started getting into waterfowl here and there in high school but was never really serious about it. I met Jacob through work and he invited me on a couple hunts and from there the addiction started and next thing I knew every weekend and whatever free time I had I found myself out chasing birds. What got me hooked into waterfowl was creating the perfect setup and watching groups of birds commit one after another, to me harvesting waterfowl is only half the fun.

What’s your favorite part about waterfowl hunting?

Favorite part of waterfowl hunting has to be traveling to different places and hunting in different environments, I usually try to do a trip to a new state every year to experience something new.

What do you do for a full-time job?

I drive semi full time, mostly agriculture related in fall time so time for hunting is very limited.

What are your hobbies outside of waterfowl hunting?

Hobbies outside of waterfowl hunting are pretty much anything hunting related from deer to rabbits to squirrels, bow fishing has become a new summer hobby these past couple years, come summer I’m out on my duck boat exploring new places or just cruising rivers with friends any chance I get.

What’s your favorite part about waterfowl hunting?

My Favorite part about waterfowl hunting is the setup. I enjoy the challenge of creating a spread and proper cover to bring the birds into the perfect spot.

What do you do for a full time job?

I’m the owner and operator of NISIN Co. CNC specializing in prototype and small production manufacturing.

What are your hobbies outside of waterfowl hunting?

Other then hunting I’m a complete gear head spending all my time building and driving drift cars.

Hi, my name is Kris. I am excited to help you have an amazing experience with The Fowl Drake. I started out hunting deer and since then moved onto goose, upland, and waterfowl.

How long have you been waterfowl hunting?

I started waterfowling about 4 years ago. It all happened when driving past an outfitter who rented blinds. I stopped by to chat and ask a few questions and the rest was history. I was hooked!

What’s your favorite part about waterfowl hunting?

I think the best parts of waterfowl hunting are; The comraderier amongst the hunters: he telling of stories, joking with one another, and reminiscing about good shots and misses. Seeing the Joy in the face of a new(er) hunter when they’re successful is an amazing feeling.

What do you do for a full time job?

Im a material handler for a family owned company in West Bend WI and I also work part time at a local gun shop.

What are your hobbies outside of waterfowl hunting?

I enjoy being outside whenever I can. It may be camping with my better half and pup, catching a brewer game, or sitting by the fire in the backyard grilling
